Movie at the Museum: A Cock and Bull Story (2005)

  • The Holburne Museum Great Pulteney Street Bath, England, BA2 4DB United Kingdom (map)

Collections will be open from 17:00 as part of the Holburne Museum Up Late and the film screening will start at 19:00.

From Austen to Bridgerton, Bath has long been the centre of the period drama aesthetic but how does the representation on screen affect our view of the reality? Michael Winterbottom takes on the period drama in film-within-a-film, A Cock and Bull Story.

Now 20 years old, A Cock and Bull Story is a fantastic look at the process of making a good period drama, it’s funny, smart and utterly absurd. This screening is taking place as part of the Holburne monthly ‘Up Late’ events, so explore the collections, take a stroll through the grounds, and then sit down for a chaotic trip into a post-modern look at the 18th century.

Independent Spirit of Bath welcomes you to the Holburne Museum with one of their delectable drinks from the era.

Tickets: £12/10
