Movie at the Museum: The Personal History of David Copperfield (2019)

  • The Museum of Bath at Work Julian Road Bath, England, BA1 2RH United Kingdom (map)

Celebrating the heritage of industrialism within Bath, The Museum of Bath at Work is full to the brim with local history and artefacts.

Originally a tennis court built in 1777, the museum now houses a range of engines, tools and most impressively, a recreation of the soft drinks factory of Victorian businessman J. B. Bowler.

Screening at the Museum of Bath at Work is Armando Iannucci’s adaptation of The Personal History of David Copperfield. This heartwarming and quirky re-telling of a young man's rise and fall in society bears many similarities to Charles Dickens own life in the Victorian period. Sitting within the Bowler’s bottles and engineering contraptions is the ideal way to experience this fantastically funny adaptation of a Dickens classic.

The collections will be open from 18.00, film at 19.00

Tickets: £12/10
